We believe that there is no reason why it should be mandatory that you pay for your car rental with a credit card. Of course, we understand why some of our competitors insist on credit card transactions: if someone is driving away in one of your very valuable assets, you want to be sure that the person in question has good credit and that you can make cost deductions from their credit card should you need to.

Fair enough, however at Cash Car Rental SA, but we see it slightly differently. Just because a person does not have a credit card, that doesn’t mean that they are a credit risk. It could just be that the client prefers cash – why turn away a client who wants to give you their cash? As long as the deposit has been paid, and certain securities and assurances are in place, we are happy for you to pay in cash, EFT or even debit card.

Having said that, we wish we could dispense with all paperwork and background checks but these are still necessary. So, here is what you will need when renting from us in cash:
- Your ID document/ SA Driver’s licence (we will need copies)
- Proof of residence
- A deposit – either in cash or as part of your EFT. It will be returned to you using the same payment method
- We will need to do a credit check – just to make sure!
If you’re paying by EFT, be sure to have your proof of payment handy when you collect your car and the deposit must reflect prior to collection.
Our cash payment policy doesn’t apply only to short-term rentals. If you are renting a car for the long term, from one to 36 months, you can also do so via cash, EFT and debit card as well.

Even with cash payment, bear in mind that it always pays to book well in advance to ensure that the car and payment method of your choice are secured for you. However, we know that plans can develop and change at the last minute, so we will do our best to accommodate all your requirements if you are in a rush.
